AA Work Experience Review Committee

The Title II Work Experience Review Committee (WER)  was created to help ensure that TWU members who possess the appropriate experience receive the proper accreditation to allow them to be promoted or transferred into the Plant Maintenance Man or Plant Maintenance Mechanic classifications. The TWU WER committee conducts a review of the member’s previous schooling, military experience and work history with management. Previously, management did the reviews without including the TWU, and the determination of whether our members were qualified for the position was left to their discretion.

The Committee developed the WER guidelines,  and now trains both our TWU members and Management employees before they are certified to conduct the reviews of our members.

The WER committee developed the procedures associated with this process to help our members supply all the information that needs to be submitted. Once that information is reviewed and verified, our members are able to utilize their qualifications to further their goals and ascend to  the appropriate field.

The committee also established a dispute process in the event a member disagrees with the determination of their review. This process is not subject to arbitration unless the Dispute Panel deadlocks on an issue.

At its inception in February of 2000, TWU Title II Work Experience Review Committee (WER) was known as the Title II Experience Credit Review (ECR), and changed its name to the current one in 2010.
