ATD Veteran’s Committee

The Air Transport Division Veteran’s Committee (ATDVC) was established to assist veteran and current military TWU members to receive benefits and entitlements they have earned. We serve those who make the ultimate sacrifice for organized labor regardless of race, creed, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, marital status or branch of service. The ATDVC promotes political education on legislation pertinent to both veterans and the labor movement, while engaging in political activism for the protection of our military men and women, both past and present. We assist and help secure benefits our military members are entitled to under the United Service Members Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA), as well as their appropriate collective bargaining agreement. The committees also assists Veteran members who are due benefits from the Veterans Administration, including retirement benefits, disability benefits, benefits under the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), improvements in conditions and any other issues affecting uniformed service members and their families. We strive to create working relationships with the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Department of Labor (DOL), Veterans Employment Training Services, Department of Transportation (DOT), and civilian employers.

The ATDVC Motto is simple but powerful, “Veterans Helping Veterans”
