It is with great sadness that we share the news that International Vice President and Local 101 President, Michael Conigliaro passed away suddenly early on November 1, 2016.

Mike was a brother and friend to all of us, and his spirit, kindness, and commitment to this union will be sorely missed.

TWU International Union Stands with Striking Members in Philadelphia

Washington, D.C. – Nearly 5,000 SEPTA workers represented by TWU Local 234 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania have walked off the job and are headed to the picket lines this morning. The union members operate subways, trolleys and buses all around the city, and went on strike late last night after negotiations failed to result in an agreement. While bargaining continued past the deadline and into the night, no deal was reached and the contract has now expired.

Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants Vote in Favor of New Labor Agreement
TWU Local 556 Reaches First Contract in ThreeYears

Today, members of TWU Local 556, flight attendants at Southwest Airlines, voted to ratify a new contract with the company after just over three years of negotiations. The final outcome was 54% voting in favor, with 89% of eligible members voting. The ratification marks a massive victory for the local, which, together with TWU International, launched a nationwide campaign to survey, educate and communicate with members about the ongoing negotiations.

Flight Crew Training Ground Instructors & Simulator Instructor Pilots
Reach Tentative Agreement with American Airlines

Dallas, Texas — Late last week, another workgroup represented by the Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO reached a tentative agreement with American Airlines. The flight crew training ground instructors and simulator instructor pilots are members of TWU Local 548 and part of the Joint TWU-IAM Association, which represents over 30,000 workers at the country's largest airline.
