The Strategic Resource Group (SRG) was added to the TWU at the end of June 2009.  The mission of Strategic Resources is to provide a wide variety of specialized support services to all TWU Departments and Divisions. These services are intended to provide both general support as well as expert assistance on a project basis.  As of this date, SRG can offer assistance in areas including, but not limited to, financial analysis, strategic planning, legal expertise and research, legislative research, pension/benefit advising, negotiations planning and support and organizational support.
The Strategic Resource Group is envisioned as a unique working group that intersects departmental and divisional lines, providing expertise as well as additional generalist assistance to the entire TWU, including Locals.  An “internal consulting model” is the best way to describe the group’s mission. This approach allows members of the group the flexibility to provide timely assistance to the gamut of TWU departments and divisions without complicating the current organizational structure and culture.
