LAS VEGAS--The Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) will announce at a briefing for the media today that they have filed for a union election at the Caesars Palace casino. An overwhelming majority signed union authorization cards calling for an election.  The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is expected to schedule a vote some time in December.

 WHO: TWU Executive Vice President Harry Lombardo joined by union    organizers and representatives of the Caesar’s organizing committee.

WHERE: 2770 Maryland Pkwy. (Suite 510), Las Vegas

Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) won a landslide election at the Wynn Casino in May 2007. Dealers from the Wynn are currently in negotiations for a first contract with casino management. TWU represents 130,000 workers across the United States. The union is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO.
