We have more than 155,000 members nationwide – and are the largest transportation union in Texas. Our Texas members work at American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, the Houston METRO, and many other public and private transportation operators.

You – the members – elect local officers to represent you before management, and we assist them in succeeding. There is strength in numbers. And the TWU has 89 locals in cities and towns across America, including New York City, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Detroit, Columbus, Ohio, and Omaha, Nebraska.
In Texas, we have nearly two dozen locals with tens of thousands of members. Our flagship transit local is TWU Local 260, whose members operate and maintain Houston’s METRO bus and light rail system, which carries 77 million riders annually.
