Liz Shuler for AFL-CIO President
Transport Workers of America, AFL-CIO (TWU) International President John Samuelsen released the following statement:
“Last week, AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka passed away unexpectedly. Even as we continue to mourn his sudden death, the federation’s constitution mandates the swift election of his replacement. As a result, later this month, the TWU will support Liz Shuler to finish President Trumka’s term in office. She truly understands the struggles of working people. Liz is a staunch defender of the solid, good-paying jobs that expand opportunities and elevate all workers. She has proven again and again that she is a serious advocate for workers and will always lend her voice to the fight to advance working families. America needs a hardworking, experienced labor leader like Liz Shuler to forge a bright path to the future.”
