Timeline of National Action
March 12:
National day of action called by the Wisconsin AFL-CIO. All unionists and labor activists in Wisconsin and neighboring states mobilize in Madison on March 12, with labor-led solidarity actions the same day in cities across the country.
March 15:
Rallies around the country and in Ohio statewide mobilization against SB 5.
April 4:
Nationwide Day of Action. The voice of the labor movement and its allies will roar louder than ever on April 4, the anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., when “it will not be business as usual at workplaces and communities across this nation,” CWA President Larry Cohen said Wednesday. This will be a Nationwide Day of Action at workplaces and communities across the country in support of labor rights. This call has since been supported by the AFL-CIO Executive Board, which is urging “movement-wide dramatic actions” on this day.
April 4-7

Workers’ Day. One of two, originally American, Internationally celebrated, holidays (the other being Working Women’s day).
Amid Escalating Attacks, Worker Groups to Build National Network for Powerful May Day Actions. May Day United will promote dynamic grassroots actions on May 1, 2011 for jobs with dignity and true equality. Worker and community-based organizations around the country are building a national network to promote a dynamic day of action for quality jobs and workers’ rights on May 1, 2011, International Workers Day. The network, May Day United, will work with local groups across the country to power a spirited response to the extreme attacks taking place against working people and their labor unions in the public and private sectors and to challenge the increasing exploitation of immigrant workers and their families. http://maydayunited.org/
Repeal referendum in Ohio:
For 90 DAYS following passage of SB 5 in Ohio: Petition drive to place SB 5 repeal referendum on Ohio ballot for November 2011 or 2012. If 230,000 signatures obtained, law will not go in effect unless and until it survives referendum.
Recall campaigns in Wisconsin:
There are campaigns in Wisconsin to recall Governor Scott Walker and the 8 most vicious Republican State Senators. Campaigns to recall state Senators have all started. Recall campaigns have only 60 days to gather enough signatures to equal 25% of the votes cast in the most recent race for governor in the district of the targeted legislator. Will not start collecting signatures on Governor’s recall until November 3, 2011. Over 500,000 signatures will be needed. 3
